Rose||9 Months Old

Rose's eight month update can be found here
Trent's nine month update can be found  here

Breastfeeding: Rose nurses around 6 or 7 times a day. Usually once at night she will wake up between 12-3am. Obviously, there are times when it is difficult like when we are out in public and it is loud and she can't focus. The bond nursing has brought us is priceless though and I wouldn't change a thing.

Sleep: Bedtime is still 7pm, but some nights Rose goes to sleep as early as 6pm! Recently, she hasn't been taking her 3rd late afternoon nap so when 5/6pm rolls around she a wreck. The only thing that calms her down is nursing and if I nurse her she falls right asleep.

Solids: Still no teeth for my girl-- just a lot of drooling and putting everything in her mouth. Rose will take one puree pouch a day and I offer her yogurt drops when we are eating dinner, but they usually end up on the floor.

Personality: There is no doubt of Rose's attachment to her Mama! She loves to be held by me, pull my hair and smack me in the face, haha! The second I put her down or give her to anyone she cries. Usually she can be calmed after a few minutes especially if its someone Rose knows holding her like Matt obviously or my Mom or Dad. Recently, Rose has been screaming, just like a quick little shreak at the top of her lungs. It's playful, she's not in pain or upset it is so funny to her brothers. She will repeatedly do it in her carseat and it actually hurts my ears!!

New this month:

Rose||8 Months Old

Rose's seven month update can be found here
Trent's eight month update can be found here

Breastfeeding: Rose is still breastfeeding around 6 times a day. If you have been following along during Rose's updates you will know that she never took a bottle or a pacifier. This was at first stressful, but the older she gets it makes me cherish this time even more. There will be a day in the near future that I will miss nursing Rose. I'm lucky she has always been so attached to it.

Sleep: Bedtime is around 630/7pm Rose wakes up once usually. Waking up for the day around 6am then her first nap is around 8am. Rose will nap again around 11am and once more around 3pm for a total of three naps a day. Since Rose is baby number #4 it is hard to be home for real naps in her crib, but I try!

Solids: Rose still only eats half a pouch to one pouch a day of baby food. No teeth yet, so we are sticking with purees and yogurt. If we are out to dinner Rose usually has a million spoons (they end up on the floor.)
Roses first time eating ice cream she latched on and dug her nails in haha

Personality:Rose's first word this month was "Dada," but it doesn't make her any less of a mamas girl. If someone else is holding her she leans for me or cries. Rose loves to shrieks at the top of her lungs and swat anything near her face. It hurts, everyone in the house has been a victim of Roses attacks! She is quickly forgiven when she giggles right after.

New this month:

Full on crawling everywhere, sitting up, and most recent Rose has been pulling herself up to stand!

Rose||7 Months Old

Rose's six month update can be found here
Trent's six month update can be found here

Breastfeeding: We are still breastfeeding and FINALLY have somewhat of a schedule. It only took 7 months! Rose still gets very distracted while she eats, so I usually have to go to her room to feed her. If we are out in public, I have to go to the car. It is so hard especially with the boys, but it's worth it! Rose nurses around six times a day.

Sleep: I am so happy to say Rose more often than not sleeps 9pm-5am! Usually, we put Rose down around 7pm for the night. When I go upstairs to bed around 9pm, I sneak in and feed and cuddle her. Rose then will sometimes wake up between 12-2am to eat (I don't change her because it wakes her up too much) and then she goes right back to sleep until 5ish. Around 7am Rose goes down for her morning nap (when normal babies are waking up for the day!) Rose usually naps for an hour and a half. I try to be home around 11:30 so Rose and Trent can take their naps. If I stay out any later than 12pm Rose (and sometimes Trent) will fall asleep and we all know car naps ruin everything!

Solids: We took a step forward with solids this month and Rose now happily eats half a pouch to one pouch a day! Probably not nearly as much as other babies take, but she just really likes her milk. For our stubborn girl that doesn't take a pacifier or bottle still at 7 months, this is a big improvement to her gaging and crying when we used to try to give her food.

New this month: Stranger anxiety in full force, sitting up for longer periods, but still needs assistance, sleeping mostly through the night(!), crawling mixture or army crawl and on all fours and waving! Also, I've noticed for a month or two now Rose wrinkles her nose when she smiles really hard (it is probably the cutest thing ever!!!)

Weight: 16lbs 8oz.
Height: Not sure
Clothing Size:6-9 Month
Eye Color: dark brown
Hair: Brown and straight (getting thicker!)
Dislikes: Pacifiers and bottles
Likes: Nursing, showers/baths with Mommy, her brothers attention, pulling her bows over her eyes, putting everything in her mouth, grabbing and pulling our dog Lacie's fur and my hair, being held.

Rose||Six Months Old

Rose's five month update can be found here
Trent's six month update can be found here

Breastfeeding: Breastfeeding is still going strong! Rose is still rejecting bottles and pacifiers. We haven't even been trying to give her bottles because she gets so upset and it is a waste of my milk. Now that Rose is six month old she is starting to get distracted when she's eating and going to a nice quiet place when she eats isn't going to happen.

Sleep: We started sleep training Rose on Monday night and we got lucky because she went right to sleep when I put her in her crib drowsy, but awake like her Pediatrician recommended.  Breaking the habit of nursing Rose to sleep is going to be a tough one to break!  Landon, Oliver and Trent all took the pacifier and would suck on that until they fell asleep. I feel badly, but it has become too much for me during the day and then all night nursing to calm her down, nursing to feed her, nursing to get her to sleep, nursing to get her back to sleep. Rose needs her sleep and so do I.

Solids: I took a step back with solids this month due to Rose gaging. I know it is part of the learning process, but I think waiting until she's a little older and doing Baby Led Weaning is the right method to introduce solids to Rose. We did this with Oliver and Trent and it worked well!
